Alpacas are domesticated animals native of the Andean section of South America. They evolved from their wild species: the Vicuña. They are extremely friendly animals each with their own personality. Their fleece (or fiber) makes the finest wool in the world, and is also the warmest. Cashmere is made from processed Alpaca fiber.

We have visited farms and acquired Alpaca fiber straight from the farmers. Then the fiber must be cleaned to have all the pieces of hay and organic material removed. Once the fiber is clean it can be spun. We use an ancient tool called a Drop Spindle. Once the fiber is spun into wool, we use it for knitting or crocheting projects. Alpaca products are certain to keep you warm, without the itchiness of sheep wool. People who are allergic to sheep wool have shown no allergenic effects to alpaca wool. This wool is guaranteed to be the softest natural wool you have ever experienced.

Dont go for another winter without your Alpaca hat!

This is called a drop-spindle. This is the way people have been spinning for thousands of years. It is a very slow process but the results are amazing, the most beautiful wool I've had the privilege of knitting and crocheting with. Go ahead, click on the picture to take a closer look at this marvelous tool.

I am happy to announce that I have acquired a new spinning wheel. This is a significant upgrade from a drop-spindle which I have been using previously. I still love my drop-spindle but the wool that the wheel makes is beautiful and more durable because I can make it double stranded. The wool by itself is available upon request and is priced at $6.00 per ounce which is the standard nationwide. For all those knitters and crocheters out there this is a one of a kind experience! All colors from the color chart are available.
